Baby hamsters

My pet hamster had 5 babies 3 days ago.
Before it had the babies I had no idea what gender it was. We didn't even know it was pregnant.

In the morning my cat knocked the hamster's cage over and one of the babies fell out and then we spotted the others.
All the babies are fine now and they are in a seperate room away from the cat.

Out of Bangkok adventure

One day while we were in Thailand we went out of Bangkok.

First we went to a Salt Farm, where they make salt, but only for Thailand. They make it by using sea water. It looked like piles of snow on the ground except the temperature was very hot.
Then we went to where they make coconut sugar. They make it by boiling coconut flowers. The sugar is brown. The sugar tastes of coconut and it is very nice.
Afterwards we went to the Floating Market, which is a market on a river. We had to get into a little boat and be paddled around to the stalls and we had to say stop if we wanted to look at something. It was very busy and we got stuck in several boat traffic jams.
From there we went to the Elephant Village which nearby. We rode on an elephant and while me and my dad were riding on one the elephant master got off and asked if we wanted him to take photos of us. He let us sit on the elephant's neck instead of the seat. After a while dad asked the man to take some videos of us riding the elephant.

Then we went to Semphran Crododile and Elephant Farm and Zoo. We went to the crocodile show where I thought they didn't treat the crocodiles very nicely. Men either stuck one of their arms down the crocodile's throat or put their head in its mouth. There was also an elephant show where the elephants played football and played in a pretend battle. Each side had one elephant rider.
Finally we went to the Rose Garden and saw a show about Thai culture. It was ok, but I wouldn't be in too much of a rush to watch it again. My favourite part of it was watching Thai Boxing and the sword fight.

The best bit of the day was the elephant ride.

Snake Farm, Bangkok

On our last day in Bangkok we visited the Snake Farm. It is next to a hospital and is run by the Red Cross. It is the second oldest snake farm in the world and they use it for anti-venom and learning about snakes.

We went to the snake handling show and saw loads of cool snakes. We even got to touch 2 of them. I learned that a snakes nostrils are only for breathing and they smell with their tongue. They don't have good eye-sight but some of them can detect body heat, such as the Pit Viper, and some of them can feel vibrations very well. After the show we visited the museum. We saw lots of snakes in little enclosures, we saw preserved dead snakes and snakes eggs. They had real eggs that were going to hatch. And they also had the skeletons of snakes.

It was fun and the best bit was watching the show and seeing the King Cobra.

Grand Palace, Bangkok

While we were in Bangkok we visited the Grand Palace. It was very big, there was loads to see and I liked it, but not as much as Wat Arun.

Bangkok holiday day 2 - Wat Arun

On the 2nd day of our holiday in Bangkok we went to Wat Arun. In Thai wat means temple and arun means dawn, so Wat Arun means Temple of Dawn. Wat Arun is over 100 meatres tall and was built over the reign of 3 kings!!

I really liked the height, architecture and the view after climbing to the top. When I went there I climbed to the top of it with my dad but my mum and brothers didn't want to.

Bangkok holiday day 1

Last night we returned home from our holiday in Bangkok in Thailand. The holiday lasted 6 days. It was very hot but fun, although the streets were busy and polluted.

On the first day we went to Jim Thompson's House. He was famous in Thailand because after the 2nd World War he moved to Thailand and he helped revive hand silk weaving.

His house was 6 Thai houses put together. It was made entirely out of wood, some of it was on stilts and inside were Thai and Asian paintings, sculptures and furniture.

The staff there made origami and they let me and my brothers pick some to keep.

I enjoyed going to Jim Thompson's House. I found it interesting and you should go there if you are in Bangkok and have time.

Quad biking in Dubai

Yesterday we went quad biking. Our friends Dawn and Simon brought their quad bikes and we went to the desert near by.

It was lots of fun and I got really good at it and managed to do doughnuts! My mum recorded me doing one.

It was lots of fun and my dad said that I was the best at riding it out of me and my brothers.

I had so much fun quad biking that I'd like one of my own. I'm going to ask for one for my birthday!
